How to treat blisters on feet at home
Blisters on feet are typically caused by friction. A blister (vesicle) is a small pocket of fluid that forms beneath the skin as a result of an injury, allergic reaction, or infection. T
Fortunately, most blisters heal independently in a few days to a week. Blisters on the feet, however, have a high chance of breaking open, which can lead to an infection
Today I am here to share with you some details on how to treat foot blisters
Friction, or forceful rubbing, is the most common cause of foot blisters. Friction blisters occur from repeated rubbing against the skin. This causes the upper layer of skin to separate from the layers underneath. Fluid collects under the damaged skin and interestingly this happens as the body’s response to provide a cushion so as to protect the skin from further damage and allow it to heal
What Causes Friction Blisters on Feet?
Footwear is the most common cause of blisters on feet. Wearing new, poor-fitting, loosely tied shoes or shoes without socks can cause them to rub against the skin.4
Spending several hours a day on your feet or walking or running long distances can also contribute to friction blisters.
How to Prevent Friction Blisters

wash your hands before touching a burst blister
keep the blister as clean as possible, gently wash the skin with soapy water and pat it dry, then apply an antiseptic cream such as Savlon or germolene. Then cover with a plaster preferably a blister plaster or a padded dressing
Avoid an adhesive dressing which could tear the delicate skin.
If the blister pops, do not remove the roof of the blister, which protects the skin underneath it.
allow the fluid in a burst blister to drain before covering it with a plaster or dressing
do not burst a blister yourself
do not peel the skin off a burst blister
do not pick at the edges of the remaining skin

Can You Pop a Blister on Your Foot?
Friction blisters should be allowed to heal on their own. If you pop a blister, bacteria can enter through the broken skin and cause an infection. Some blisters pop on their own and should be covered with a bandage.
