Holland America Koningsdam | Day 6 - Ketchikan, Alaska | Alaska Cruise | Creek Street Ketchikan

I started my day with breakfast at the Dining Room on Holland America's Koningsdam as we sailed towards Ketchikan, Alaska.

I took the opportunity to walk off breakfast by walking around the Promenade Deck out on Deck 3.

Holland America as I've already mentioned in my other videos has really good docking privileges in Alaska, including here in Ketchikan.

Walking back towards the ship, we walked through Salmon Landing, by the popular Alaska Fish House which comes highly recommended and the Lumberjack Show, which is a popular show here in Ketchikan. If you are looking to do some souvenir shopping, Ketchikan is where the best deals are found.

Ketchikan is part of a rainforest, so it does rain here often. At the Visitors Center, they have this “liquid sunshine gauge” to show you how much rain has fallen this year already.

If you’re looking for things to do in Ketchikan, inside the Visitors Center you can purchase last minute shore excursions and tours such as a private tour in a hummer (I did this tour the first time I came to Ketchikan), sea plane tours, tours to see wildlife and so much more. The washrooms here at the Visitors Center are also clean and free to use.

Another tour you can do out of Ketchikan, especially if you're a fan of The Deadliest Catch TV Show, is to do the Bering Sea Crab Fisherman Tour on the Aleutian Ballad. After getting a bit of work done, it was time to head upstairs to the Sea View Pool and enjoy the pool all to myself along with the sunshine.

After a shower and freshening up, it was time for dinner at the Dining Room on the Koningsdam.

As we left Ketchikan we sailed by the Windstar Star Breeze, which I really hope to sail on Windstar soon! I then spent some time up in the Crow's Nest as the rain fell outside.
