Sea lions are communal marine mammals, relying on complex communication and social interactions for mating, offspring rearing and cooperative hunting. Their survival and reproductive success hinges on their group structure. Sea lions have also adapted a thick blubber layer aids in insulation, thermoregulation and buoyancy, which bolsters their aquatic survival.
