Missing & Warrant POI in Murder of 2 Children, Lynne Fortner Brown age 25 Estacada, Oregon Feb 1975

Leslie Michelle Brown age 7
She had taken her 2 children from their fathers house for a one day visit with her. The childrens bodies were found at McIver Park in Estacada 3 weeks later. Her car was found abandoned nearby with gun shells and a receipt for the .38 caliber revolver. Lynne Brown has yet to be found.
I am confused. Men use guns two-thirds of the time. Men tend to commit crimes outdoors. Women usually commit murder indoors or inside a residence using something like poison and they rarely flee the scene. If she had killed herself it seems like she would have done it right there and right then along side of them or inside of the car using poison or pills.
