CARO EMERALD Quicksand

2011 and I was faced with the diabolical word and reality that is Cancer! Other than some great medical support and expertise, as well as loved ones & well wishers surrounding me, my submersion into pop music once again helped save the day and Caro Emerald's music was paramount to that process. Just before my diagnosis, but i knew something was wrong, i glimpsed a bit of her 'Back it up' video and made a note of her name as I had not encountered her before. It was love at first sight and sound! 'Deleted Songs from the Cutting Room Floor' filled my ears and rooms in 2011 as I navigated treatment and aftershocks. Thank you Caro!

I have relished her two long players and every remix and rarity I can get my hands on! It is her ability to morph genres and emerge with a distinctive look and sound that has most endeared me to her music. Effortlessly traversing pop, r&b, jazz. disco, funk, torch and traditional genres, Caro's music has been such a lifeline for me these past 4 years. 'Quicksand' is the first single from her 3rd album. This is a lady building some serious buzz around her, and although her diehard fans like me probably want to keep her to ourselves, it is just a matter of time before she becomes a global superstar. The sophomore album debuted at #1 in England; a great achievement for a Dutch artist. I hope this clip sees the light of day! I have had some clips blocked worldwide by some of my favorite singers like Gin Wigmore and gasp Julia Fordham! But none of this stops me spruiking some truly great voices. Enjoy!
