October 25, 1997

Interview of the full band in the SIR Studios in Hollywood, California previous to the show they played that same day. In this excerpt you can see the band talking about how hard was for them to open for such a huge band like "Kiss".

Back when Deftones were touring in support of their debut album, 1995's Adrenaline, the band got a gig opening for the one and only KISS.

In an interview with Metal Hammer, frontman Chino Moreno explains that Gene Simmons and company are "the hardest band to open up for ever." But, it's "not because they're the best band."

"Basically the people that go to see KISS are there to see KISS," Moreno says. "They could give a s*** less who's the opening band."

"We'd be playing and there would literally be guys in the front row in full KISS make-up just standing there flipping us off for the whole set. Wouldn't put their arms down," Moreno adds. "It was really rough, but at the same time still the experience of a lifetime."
