PROBLEM:
The jeweler sells large, shiny, and clean diamonds whose price in dollars is proportional to the square of their weight. The price of a certain diamond is 60,690 dollars. As he could not sell it, the jeweler cut it perfectly (no weight is lost) into two new diamonds whose total price is exactly 35,490.
What is the (positive) difference, in dollars, between the prices of the two new diamonds?
