The Halloween Horror Night Disaster: The Terror Tram Incident | Accidental Deaths

The very first Halloween Horror Nights event, held in 1986, was the very first Halloween Horror Nights event ever held. Universal Studios Hollywood hosted the event.The Terror Tram, a nighttime version of the Backlot Tour with scareactors hiding in the shadows ready to jump out and harm passengers, would be the headline attraction.

Unfortunately, disaster struck on October 31 when Paul Rebalde, a 20-year-old scareactor, became overly excited during his performance and was crushed to death between two tram carriages. For the next six years, Universal Studios Hollywood would not have a Halloween event, and the scareactor "attacks" on moving trams would be terminated entirely.
