The Manipur government has called a statement by the Kuki-Zo group Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) to shut down all state government offices in the hill district Churachandpur as 'illegal', and warned of legal action over forcing people to follow the ITLF diktat. The ITLF had warned that all state government employees shouldn't come to work, following the end of its 24-hour ultimatum to the Biren Singh government to reinstate a head constable who was suspended over allegations that he had been training an armed group.
