SWEET DEC - 2005 (FOR NON-ZO VIEWERS)

Описание к видео SWEET DEC - 2005 (FOR NON-ZO VIEWERS)

THIS IS A SLIGHTLY SHORTENED VERSION FOR NON-ZO VIEWERS. It's a cultural event called "Sweet December- 2005 - Concert and Fashion Show" which has been performed yearly in Yangon (Rangoon), Burma, by the Zo people. It is organized by the Yangon Zofa Thalai Pawl (Yangon Zo Youth Group). This video is re-edited from its 120-minute original material by myself (thangzadal) in 2013 with the aim to use it as a visual medium to introduce ourselves to the outside world. In Burma we're officially known as CHIN and MIZO and KUKI in India and Bangledesh. The language spoken is what is now called the "Mizo language". It's a Zo dialect originally known as the Hualngo/Lusei or Duhlian dialect. And it is spoken and well-understood by 60 % of the 2.5 to 5 million Chin/Zo people. The fashions, except tribal costumes, are designed by locally well-known Zo designers.
