Hannibal industrial battery charger is the modern power source for the electrical industry. Hannibal’s industrial rectifiers feature reliable, robust hardware and intelligent software functions. These products are developed with the customer and their business in mind. Continuity of process control is critical across many industrial markets. These include data centers, Healthcare devices like Siemens Healthineers, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, petrochemicals, chemicals, power generation and distribution, semiconductors, automotive, renewable energy, telecommunications, and IT.
DC UPS (Industrial Rectifier) Specifications
This battery charger is a 6-pulse or 12-pulse thyristor-controlled, fully digital, static AC/DC rectifier. It offers constant voltage and current characteristics. This system resembles the DC part of our industrial UPS and includes a galvanic isolation transformer. The battery charger is SCADA-ready with free contacts and communication features, including Modbus protocol via RS-485 or TCP/IP port.
The Hannibal Industrial Battery Charger provides THD of less than 3% and offers various filters. These include anti-harmonic filters, LC filters, RFI filters, and passive filters. Additionally, if you are looking for an IGBT-based battery charger or rectifier, Hannibal can provide that as well.
Hannibal DC UPS and battery chargers are widely used in various industries. These include power generation, power distribution, power transmission, manufacturing, transportation, mining, and oil and gas. They serve different applications such as alarm, control, signal, and supply of DC breakers in power plants, substations, switchgear, railways, and offshore plants.
Ni-Cd and VRLA Battery Charger
These rectifiers are compatible with various battery types, including Alcad and Saft Ni-CD, as well as Enersys or Exide VRLA, OPzV, and Lithium-ion batteries. For DC voltage regulation, we use a dropper diode system as a DC-DC converter.
When functioning as a Ni-CD or VRLA battery charger, the system supports three charging modes:
– Float charge
– Equalizing charge
– Boost charge
DC-DC converter or DC Voltage Dropper Regulator
This item functions to reduce the voltage applied to the load. Without a dropper diode, the battery voltage (whether float or boost) directly affects the load. Consequently, if the float or boost voltage exceeds the load’s maximum operating voltage, the load may fail or suffer damage.
The dropper consists of diodes connected in series, which can be engaged or disengaged by a contractor. Therefore, the number of diodes and the steps in the dropper circuit depend on the load’s operating voltage range, the number of batteries, and the battery charge voltage (float and boost).
