An Eldar plan to manipulate the path of a Tyranid fleet into an Ork WAAAGH! backfires when the Hive Mind seeks biomass on an Imperial world. This world is falling fast to the sea of teeth and claw, with Imperial reinforcements being too far away to respond in time.

Khatrin is too close to Eldar positions, and a Hive Fleet allowed to consume the world and strengthen poses a great threat to the xenos. The decision is made to engage the Tyranids in an attempt to buy time for Imperial reinforcements or exterminatus. Aspect warriors are deployed to isolate and eliminate synapse creatures in order to scatter and confuse the invasion.

After early successes a large Hive Tyrant specimen is targeted, but the Hive Mind predicts the strike and is ready with a defensive force. The Eldar attempt to press the attack regardless, and the stage is set for a costly battle at a large water processing facility.
