Sonal Varma, Chief Economist, India, and Asia ex-Japan, Nomura, speaking to ET NOW, said that oil prices are at a tricky level for governments and that fuel prices have not been adjusted since November 2021. Oil prices are a risk to fiscal math since fuel prices are expected to increase from March onwards. A portion of the cost of oil price rise will fall on the Indian consumer because of the Ukraine-Russia crisis, says Sonal Varma.
