Are They Worth It? [Unexpected!] Flytanium Scales Lotus Spyderco Paramilitary 2 "Long" Term Review

I made a "long" term review of the Purple Flytanium G10 Lotus Scales for the Spyderco Paramilitary 2. After carrying them every day for over a full month, I have come to a few conclusions and wanted to share them with you.

The Flytanium Scales are sweet, the machining is nice, the G10 scales are fairly well made. The contour works really nicely and I think it is a major improvement over the stock flat scales for the Paramilitary 2 from Spyderco.

They could be a lot better with a few changes. Don't get me wrong, I'm nitpicking here. I would love to have a grippier texture on the side of the scale that interacts with your thumb when deploying from your pocket. I found it difficult to present the knife with wet, cold or gloved hands. The G-10 is very slippery and even a slight texture would help give a more tactile feel. I also think they should have an option for left handed folks. It can't be that hard to drill a few more holes. My biggest complaint is that these Flytanium Scales are made in China. They are machined nicely, but I still do not like supporting manufacturing in China. I think something similar could be made stateside and could be priced comparably or slightly higher.

I purchased these scales from a distributor and I am currently working on getting my own website up for resale, but in the meantime, I would recommend purchasing them from Blade HQ.
