Covrett Stadium in Marengo will be bursting with high-stakes postseason anticipation tonight as the Colonel Crawford Eagles and West Jefferson Roughriders meet on the football field for the first time ever, competing for the 2025 Region-23 Championship!

The Eagles (12-1, 6-1), co-champs of the Northern-10 Athletic Conference, carry a 5-seed, and they have dominated in the playoffs, including at the home stadiums of higher ranked teams in the previous two rounds versus the 4-seed Mount Gilead, 42-8; and the top seed Centerburg, 42-13.

The Roughriders (11-1, 7-1) of the Ohio Heritage Conference enter tonight's regional final in Highland as a 3-seed, and after receiving a first-round bye, battled through two tight contests, a 21-20 win over Toronto and a 34-32 win over Beverly Fort Frye.

The lone defeat for each team came in Week-8. Since Colonel Crawford's loss to N10 co-champion Carey and West Jefferson's loss to Mechanicsburg on October 10th, both teams have come out on top against all comers that followed.

However, tonight, the run will end for one of these superb squads as regional runners-up, and the other will advance to the state semifinals!
