How to Crochet Cowboy / Cowgirl hat (3-6 months)

** This cowboy/girl hat is for baby age 3-6 months. I did not mentioned it in this video but it's in the title and thumbnail.

Cowboy hat (3-6 months)

Yarn : medium weight #4 / worsted weight (you need around 3.6oz / 110 grams)
Crochet Hook : 5.00mm (hat), 4.25mm (star)
Measurement : 16.5 inches / 42 cm (hat circumference)

Crochet hat with 2 strands of yarn

Make slip knot

Chain 11

Round 1 : 3 dc in 3rd chain from hook, 7 dc, 6 dc in next sts, 7 dc, 3 dc in last sts. Slip sts (26 sts)

Round 2 : chain 2, 2 dc in each sts in next 3 sts, 7 dc, 2 dc in each sts in next 6 sts, 7 dc, 2 dc in each sts in next 3 sts. Slip sts (38 sts)

Round 3 : chain 2, 2 dc in next sts, 3 dc, 12 hdc, 3 dc, 2 dc in next sts, 3 dc, 12 hdc, 3 dc. Slip sts (40 sts)

Round 4-10 : chain 1, 40 hdc. Slip sts

Round 11 : chain 1, 40 sc. slip sts

Chain 1, cut yarn.

Brim

Start at middle of hat

Make slip knot

Round 12 : chain 1, 1 hdc, 2 hdc next sts repeat to 3x, 2 hdc, 2 hdc next sts repeat to 3x, 1 hdc, 2 hdc next sts repeat to 6x, 2 hdc, 2 hdc next sts repeat to 3x, 1 hdc, 2 hdc next sts repeat to 2x. Slip sts (57 sts)

Round 13 : chain 1, 1 hdc, 2 hdc next sts repeat to 3x, 2 dc, 2 dc next sts repeat to 5x, 1 hdc, 2 hdc next sts repeat to 8x, 2 dc, 2 dc next sts repeat to 5x, 1 hdc, 2 hdc next sts repeat to 2x, 1 hdc. Slip sts (80 sts)
