Off Da Clock Season 1, Episode 9 : Meet AAMU Women's BasketBall Coach Margaret Richards

This week we met the head Alabama A&M University Women’s basketball coach, Margaret Richards. Richards talks about her journey into basketball herself and how she ended up coaching it instead of playing. Richards hails from Louisville, Kentucky and she thinks back to her time at Kentucky State, and how her first college job there helped her succeed in her future career as a coach. Our host Sierra asks Richards what she wants people to know that are looking into a career of coaching. In the next segment of the show, Richards is asked how she likes to spend her free time away from coaching. We talk about why it is important to rest and take care of your mind. After the commercial, Sierra and Coach Richards talk about what the upcoming season is going to look like, and what Richards wants to improve and really work on with her team this year. Richards explains how the ladies on the team are like a family, and how that can be seen when they are on the court. The AAMU Women’s basketball team engages in many community projects, specifically with the schools in the surrounding area of Huntsville.
