AMAZON BASICS NOTEBOOK / Pen & Paint test

The Amazon Basics notebook:
As Moleskine notebooks really downgraded in quality lately (a simple Crayola pen bleeds through like crazy), I wanted to try the Amazon Basic one, which could be a better version.
- the same format as Moleskine notebooks (A5 narrow)
- only exists with a 5mm square grid
- paper a bit thicker than the Moleskine one
- fountain pens don’t feather
- slight ghosting. Personally, with my writings I don’t’ really notice it.
- bleed through with several layers of markers, and a bit with watercolors.
- when I let the watercolor completely dry the result wasn’t as bad as it looked here. But the paper created a grainy effect.
- Conclusion: a perfect notebook if you like to mess up your pages a bit and don’t look for perfectly clean spreads. If you like to watercolor and want something a bit cleaner, I’d recommend the Leuchtturm1917.
