Описание к видео NRP Interview Prep Webinar

We hosted our Interview Prep webinar to help applicants prepare for their Cohort 38 Panel Interview with our nursing leadership team.

Q&A Session

Is there a difference in panels?
Panels are separated by specialty units (Critical care, clinical trials, medicine, surgery, oncology, float pool)

Can I Interview for more than one panel?
Can I switch the panel I am interviewing for?
No. There were just shy of 800 applicants with interviews of 320 people running concurrently over 4 days. Only one panel interview is allotted. Panel placement is based on application score and specialty preference chosen. No changes will be made.

Are there different question for the panel and unit level interviews?
Unit level is only behavioral style questions. Unit level can also have behavioral as well candidate specific questions (strength/weaknesses, job experience, clinical scenarios)

When preparing for scenario examples, should I share multiple examples or stick to one?
You are encouraged to have examples the integrate multiple themes or topic that you can speak to. It’s not recommended to use multiple scenarios to answer one question, try and focus on what your actions/responses were to the scenario.

Is there a difference between division 1 and 2 of the panels?
Panels with large specialty areas are divided to accommodate the many units. Medicine 1 and 2 are all medicine units there isn’t a difference in being placed in division 1 or 2.

Do you have to have preceptorship experience in the ICU to interview in the ICU?
No. Panel placement is based on application score and specialty preference chosen.

Would you recommend to state what ICU or department you want to work in or be open.
Entirely up to you. The panel was split with some saying they were open on what ICU they wanted to work in and the other stating they were completely open. It can work out either way.

Didn’t have a preceptorship, where should I draw my example scenarios from?
Think about experiences you have had (work/clinical/academic/volunteer) in which you demonstrated the qualities of a nurse at a high level. It’s ok to use other experiences than clinical rotations just remember you are interviewing for a nurse position. If the majority of your examples are in your work (NA, MA, Tech, server) role it can be difficult to show your skills and abilities as a nurse. We recommend a majority are related to a clinical setting with a few that demonstrate the discussed qualities in another role (professional or personal) or setting.

What if I don’t receive confirmation of my NCLEX by the 2/27/23 cut off?
Your application won’t continue in the process if you don’t have your RN license by 2/27/23.
