Trusmadi Bird Station Hide

The Trusmadi Bird Station Hide is a second one to open within the same road where the first hide is located. This bird hide was opened in mid-2024, offering birders and photographers a second option for spotting the rare and endemic birds of Sabah.

Birdwatching Asia had the pleasure of visiting both hides, twice in 2024, to document them and share the information through our YouTube channel and also our website.

By offering two bird hides at Trusmadi, this says that there is a market for this, if done proper, and at the new hide, they are still undergoing renovations and upgrades, but it is open to the public.

Birds you can spot here are of course, the star bird which is the Bulwer's Pheasant, and several other pheasants and other interesting sub-montane birds as you see in the poster. Again, this is a hide and no a bird zoo, therefore, wildlife is always not a guarantee as many of you may know.

For those planning a trip to Trusmadi to see the Bulwer's Pheasant, you should allocate at least two days here, one for back-up, in case of weather or no-show. Anyhow, the contact details are in the beginning of the video, in the bird poster and at the bottom.
