The Queen 'threatens' to sack her dressmaker Angela Kelly - Royal Insider

Angela Kelly's book 'The Other Side of the Coin: The Queen, the Dresser and the Wardrobe' tells the story of how she pulled an April Fools' prank on The Queen. The monarch was said to have reacted with disbelief and laughter once she discovered the truth. Kelly was a housekeeper for the British Ambassador to Germany before joining the royal family. She was not formally trained in the fashion world, but her mother taught her how to sew and make clothes for her dolls. Kelly became Personal Assistant and Senior Dresser in 2002.

Kelly designed some of the Queen's most iconic looks. She is one of the few non-family members who is allowed to touch the Queen. Kelly sees the Queen every day and lives on the grounds of Windsor Castle. In 2012, she was made a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order.
