this will thankfully be my final upload of this. i finally got a way to record the raw bitstream, straight off the tape, and the quality absolutely blows away my last capture. old capture is here:

recorded from the raw bitstream. played back on a jvc hm-dh30000u, connected via firewire to a toshiba tt-d3000, modified with capusb 1394. deinterlaced with qtgmc and upscaled to 4k with supperres/nnedi3 via avisynth
