Having trouble with your dishwasher draining correctly? If you have an air gap installed on your dishwasher drain line, it could be clogged, causing water to back up. Unclogging your air gap is a quick and easy fix.

In this video, I'll show you step-by-step how to clean out your dishwasher air gap to get your dishwasher draining properly again. I'll cover how to remove your air gap cap, use a toothpick or pipe cleaner to loosen debris, flush out with water, and reinstall. Doing this periodic cleaning can help prevent backups and give you better performance from your dishwasher.

If water still isn't properly draining after unclogging the air gap, there could be additional clogs in the drain line or garbage disposal itself.
