Pouring Concrete For A Radiant Heated Floor (Concrete Over Plywood)

This video will show you how we pour a 1.5" thick radiant heat concrete floor over plywood. The radiant heat concrete floor will serve as the heat source for this new home. The pex tubing will have hot water flowing through them, warming the concrete, which will heat the home. We pour dozens of radiant heat floors over plywood just like this one each year. There will eventually be some kind of finished flooring going over the concrete. It might be ceramic tiles, hardwood, or an engineered clip-on flooring product. As you'll see in the video, the pex tubing is very strong. We can wheelbarrow concrete right over it and not damage the tubes. Pouring concrete floors like this one takes time, it's not quite as fast as pouring a traditional concrete basement floor because it's so thin.
