When Albino Baby Elephant, Khanyisa Met Lammie the Sheep For the First Time

Next month, Khanyisa will have been with us for three years, that’s three years since her rescue and the beginning of her journey of healing and becoming part of a new family. Her first family member was a small sheep with a fat tail and skinny legs. A rather unusual looking creature compared to the animals Khanyisa had known. Their bond was not immediate. It took the two some time to get used to each other, what with Khanyisa chasing Lammie and pulling her tail and woolly coat! But eventually, the two grew closer, thanks to all those nights Lammie gave the calf company in their shared nursery, and those bush walks the two went on with their carers. Lammie helped us to raise Khanyisa and get her to the stage she is at now: joining the herd in the homestead overnight, as a fully-integrated herd member. Thank you for your service Lammie! 🐑🐘💖
