The Acela Project: Amtrak Acela Express HIGHSPEED 165MPH+ Testing [2014]

On September 29th/30th 2014, high speed tests were conducted using one of Amtrak's highspeed Acela Express trainsets between "Morris" & "County" interlockings. The set chosen for this special task was refurbished trainset #16, consisting of powercar #'s 2012 & 2013 along with the Amtrak inspection coach 10003.

+CONSIST: 2012 - 3205 - 3515 - 3550 - 3313 - 3514 - 3407 - 10003 - 2013+

A total of 13 runs were made in the section beginning roughly at 11PM and ending at roughly 5AM with each run increasing the train's overall top speed. The target for these tests were 165MPH with potentials to transcend. The final top speed will not be mentioned here for certain reasons. Please do not ask :) (Taken 9/29-30/14)
