The W76‑1 Life Extension Program touched many people and sites across of the Nuclear Security Enterprise. Teams from Pantex, Y-12 National Security Complex, the national laboratories, and other production facilities worked together on developing, producing, and delivering a refurbished warhead that is safe, secure, and reliable for deployment — ahead of schedule and under budget. From concept to completion, the W76‑1 LEP was an impressive undertaking, concluding with the last unit produced at Pantex in December 2018.
