Let’s talk about the state of DC video games. While Marvel fans are living large with a slew of upcoming titles like Marvel's Wolverine, Spider-Man 2 DLC and 1943: Rise of Hydra, the DC gaming landscape is looking pretty barren. Sure, we’ve got the upcoming Wonder Woman game from Monolith and the VR-exclusive Batman: Arkham Shadow for the Meta Quest 3, but beyond that, things have been pretty quiet. WB Games Montreal and Rocksteady’s next projects are shrouded in mystery, and The Wolf Among Us 2 keeps getting delayed. Now, we can add another Batman game to the list.

This latest tidbit comes from Puck, which recently did a deep dive into Warner Brothers Discovery's dire financial situation. The article reveals that, despite the company’s many struggles, CEO David Zaslav sees the gaming division as a bright spot—particularly as it relates to WB properties. And now, it seems that the Matt Reeves Batman universe is getting its own video game. In addition to the sequel to 2022’s The Batman and a spin-off series starring The Penguin, there’s now a game set in the Reeves Batmanverse in development.

While this is undoubtedly great news for Batman fans, it’s a bit of a letdown for those of us hoping to see other DC characters get the spotlight.
