Convertors: The Transformers Knock-Offs That Weren't | Oddities #9

Back in the 80's copyright and licenses were like the Wild West.

One story that came out of that was Select Convertors. An out of business Japanese company sells their licenses to another Japanese toy company who then licenses those designs to an American company to cash in on the Transformers craze.

This is how the Robotech Valkyrie, a few Transformers, a robot Peacock and a slot machine all wound up in the same toy line.

Fully licensed and not knock offs.
