⚠️ Disclaimer: This piece discusses the experience of being discarded by a partner with untreated bipolar disorder. This is a story based on my real experience, having lived through what it felt like to be left in the chaos of an unregulated episode.

It’s not an attack on people who have bipolar - I’ve been in love with someone who has it, and I am fairly certain members of my family had it and were undiagnosed. It is hell, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. But being on the receiving end of an episode is deeply traumatic. So this audio is about the pain of being on the other side of that instability.

Mental illness explains behavior, but it doesn’t erase responsibility. Compassion can exist alongside boundaries, and everyone deserves accountability and healing. Including you.
