Top News | After days of uncertainty over whether or not there will be an opposition coalition in West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress declared 42 candidates for the Lok Sabha election on Sunday, leaving no place for the Congress. This proved to be expensive for the INDIA bloc. In response to the names, the Congress stated that it has always insisted on wanting to share seats in West Bengal with the TMC in a dignified manner. The Indian National Congress has consistently argued that talks, not declarations made out of thin air, are the only way to bring such an accord to a close. Jairam Ramesh, general secretary of the Congress, stated, "The Indian National Congress has always wanted the INDIA group to fight the BJP together."
