Wildlife SOS recently rescued a baby Rhesus macaque who lost his mother to childbirth. Lacking the skills and emotional support to survive in this harrowing world, the baby monkey was in a precarious situation. Our care team provided him with a support toy to hold on to and bottle-fed him milk formula at regular intervals.

In urban areas, we are seeing an influx in Rhesus macaque populations due to the easy availability of food from poor garbage disposal systems. Cities see high mortality rates in Rhesus macaques due to road accidents, diseases, electrocutions and dog attacks.
