Virtual Autism:
Research has shown that children who have been exposed to screens for long periods of time (TV screen, computer screen, tablet screen, smartphone screen, etc.) can develop a new type of autism spectrum disorder called virtual autism.

Children with virtual autism show difficulties with communication, social interaction, and behavior (repetitive and restricted behavior). In addition, they exhibit limited and repetitive play skills, sleep problems and sensory problems.

Early intervention is important, and children with virtual autism can be successfully treated with speech therapy, behavioral therapy, occupational therapy, and medication (only if needed).

If you notice symptoms of virtual autism in your child, the best thing to do is to show your child to a qualified pediatrician or pediatric psychiatrist. They will identify the situation and refer your family for further intervention as needed.

It doesn't matter if your child has autism or not, please think twice before allowing your child to spend more time in front of the screen.
Instead, try to connect them with physical activities, interactive play, storytelling, singing, dancing, art and crafts, and etc.

If you want to know more about virtual autism and its intervention, please leave a comment below. I am happy to help you solve your problems.
