Man Mo Temple is located in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong. It is one of the earliest Chinese temples built during the colonial period of Hong Kong.
Wenwu Temple is a group of temples, composed of three buildings: Wenwu Temple, Liesheng Palace, and Gongshang. The Chinese Wu Temple is mainly dedicated to Wenchang and Emperor Wu, while Lieshenggong is dedicated to the gods, Liesheng. And the place where disputes can be resolved, the three buildings are separated by two alleys. The Man Mo Temple reflects the social organization and religious customs of the Chinese in Hong Kong in the past and has important historical and social significance.
The Wenwu Temple is mainly composed of three blue brick structures with gold roofs. The Wenwu Temple is a two-in-three-bay building with two granite drum platforms outside the main entrance. There is a stone lion sitting on the left and right of the front yard.
The Wenwu Temple enshrines "Emperor Wen" and "Emperor Wu": Emperor Wen (Emperor Wenchang) holds a writing brush and is responsible for literature and official duties; Emperor Wu (Emperor Guan Sheng) wears a green robe and holds a long sword, representing loyalty and martial arts.
The Wenwu Temple was built with blue bricks, tiles, wood, stone, and other building materials. The components on the front of the temple, such as pillars, beams, birds, couplets, etc., used stone instead of common wood.
