CHIDAMBARAM- A MUSICAL BY SRIMATHUMITHA | A Journey in Naada Yoga |

Описание к видео CHIDAMBARAM- A MUSICAL BY SRIMATHUMITHA | A Journey in Naada Yoga |

Chidambaram is the modern term for Chit- Ambalam meaning atmosphere of pure consciousness. This is the Aakasha (Ether) holy place of Lord Nataraja who is the dancing manifestation of Lord Shiva , performing the AnandaThaandava (Cosmic dance of Bliss) in Kanaka Sabhai or Golden Hall. It signifies absolute space which is Brahmam or Shiva, the aim of every Yogi. What is interesting about Chidambaram, is the coming together of arts and spirituality. This is the feature that inspired me to write this song as I am a singer and a yogini.

I am delighted to collaborate with Kosai Nagaraan's Thollisai Karuviyagam, a conservatory of ancient Thamizh instruments of Sangam era of Thamizh, around 11, 460 years ago. It is my desire that these sounds are never lost in this modern age and I am proud to feature and use exclusively live sounds of Udal, Kuttatharai, Kokkarai, Konatharai, Vensangu, Thiruchinnam, Udukkai, Thalam, Gowrikalam, Parai, with very less electronic sounds throughout this song.

I am also delighted to feature Super singer fame Nadhaswaram artist and vocalist Parthiban who very enthusiastically record his portions in Raga Shanmukhapriya from Cuddalore while I directed remotely from Melbourne. For the benefit of the global seeker and Yogis, I have added English sub-titles so you may enjoy the essence of this song about Adiyogi, Lord Shiva, who has blessed our world with Naada (Cosmic sound), Natya (Dance) and Yoga (way of life).

Chidambaram was originally Thillai forest, where, sage Patanjali , Sage Vyagrapada and South India's very own saint Thirumular witnessed the Ananda Thandava of Nataraja. The Thamizh hymns ( Thennadudaya and Namachivaya Vaazhga ) featured in this song are taken from Thiruvasagam by Shaivite Saint Manikkavasagar as an ode to the rich treasure of Thamizh literature that we possess.

The temple as we see it today was renovated and improved during the reign of Chozhas in Tamilnadu who worshipped Nataraja as their deity and provided the Golden roof (Porkoorai) under which stands Nataraja. The Golden roof signifies nine openings and 72000 Nadis in the yogic body.
