Dirk Hartog Island - Remote, Wild and Isolated - Western Australia

Описание к видео Dirk Hartog Island - Remote, Wild and Isolated - Western Australia

In this episode we continue our adventure on Dirk Hartog Island, one of Australia’s most remote island camping destinations!

Dirk Hartog Island is an island off the Gascoyne coast of Western Australia, within the Shark Bay World Heritage Area. It is Western Australia's largest and most western island accessible by barge from Steep Point if you are taking your vehicle over (which we did).

Known as Wirruwana by the traditional owners of the island, the Malgana people, it was given its present name by Dirk Hartog, a Dutch sea captain who first encountered the Western Australian over 400 years ago in 1616.

We continue our adventure from Louisa Bay where we explore the northern section of Dirk Hartog Island.

With Louisa Bay Campground as our base we explore:
• Mystery Beach
• The Block Campground
• Urchin Point Campground
• Cape Inscription
• Turtle Bay Campgrounds
• Dampiers Landing Campgrounds
• Dirk Hartog Eco Lodge - Luxury Rooms

Enjoy
