There is a difference between burning out and burning up.
Isaiah 6:1-8 (NIV)
God is on the throne.
Upward Vision.
Inward Vision.
Jeremiah 17:9 (NIV)
“God will never do anything with us till he has first of all undone us.” (Spurgeon)
The throne is for God. The altar is for us.
“Jehovah, who is a consuming fire, can only fitly be served by those who are on fire, whether they be angels or men.” (Spurgeon)
Outward Vision.
Characteristics of Burning Out:
1. You think you have nothing to confess.

2. You stiff-arm sanctification.

3. You think God cannot use you.
Characteristics of Burning Up:
1. You recognize your own sin.
