In this video I have discussed the 36 Biodiversity Hotspots of India and the World. The concept of Biodiversity Hotspots was introduced in 1988 by Norman Myers. The categorization criteria of biodiversity hotspots have also been mentioned in the video. These Biodiversity Hotspots are identified by Conservation International. The Biodiversity Hotspots of India are spread across Himalayas, Western Ghats, Indo-Burma region and Sundaland. The geographical representation of Biodiversity Hotspots on maps has been shown.
