Setting the timing on a Mustang Cobra DOHC 4.6

Описание к видео Setting the timing on a Mustang Cobra DOHC 4.6

This video I go over setting the timing on a DOHC 4.6 engine. It is easiest to do without the cam followers in place but it still can be done with them in, you will just be fighting the valve springs and its increases the possibility of hitting the valves on the top of the piston. You will notice in the video the crank sprocket keyway is straight up. If it is in this position none of the pistons will be at top dead center and it reduces the chances of piston to valve contact.
I didn’t think that the difference in the cams would come out on video but if you go back and forth in the video you can see it.
Getting the secondary chains on is the most frustrating for me. It takes time to get the chain over the tensioner and don’t forget to make sure the plunger is not in backwards. If you slow down the video you can see me flip it around a couple times trying to get it in. The passenger side gave me trouble getting the plunger back in.
If you have questions or comments please let me know.
Don’t forget the crank position sensor wheel!!
