Lord Inchiquin (Turlough O’Carolan)

To give him his Irish name, Toirdhealbhach O Cearbhallain was born in County Meath in 1670. He is usually known in English as Turlough (or Terence) O'Carolan and you’ve probably heard him referred to simply as ‘Carolan’, without the ‘O’ prefix because that is the generally accepted way to refer to him if you are using only his surname

So now you know. Turlough O'Carolan (full name), or just Carolan (surname only)

But don’t worry about it too much, just enjoy his music
