Can Your Thyroid Affect Your Lymph Nodes? | UCLA Endocrine Center

Описание к видео Can Your Thyroid Affect Your Lymph Nodes? | UCLA Endocrine Center

In this video, James Wu, MD, an endocrine surgeon at the UCLA Endocrine Center, explains how thyroid diseases affect lymph nodes.

Lymph nodes are bean-shaped structures that filter the fluid in our bodies and catch harmful things like bacteria, viruses, and cancer cells. It's common for people to have swollen lymph nodes from colds, flus, and vaccines, but sometimes swollen lymph nodes are a sign of something more serious, like thyroid cancer. Doctors should look at the lymph nodes in patients with possible thyroid cancer or those who have already been diagnosed with it.
