A WWI military compass belonging to the Mephisto tank, which is displayed in Queensland Museum's Anzac Legacy Gallery, has been reunited with the iconic tank after more than one hundred years apart.

The compass has been cared for across three generations and now will be part of the Queensland Museum collection. Further conservation work and research will be undertaken on the compass by museum staff.
