What we've got here is sure to stop anyone in their tracks. Sitting on the showroom floor now is the real deal, an authentic, stunning 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS, complete with all the details that an Impala of this vintage deserves. No, you're not dreaming. This Impala is equipped with the legendary 409 V8 - 4-speed powertrain combination. Marked by triple-dot taillights, the Chevrolet Impala represented the epitome of style for Chevrolet in the early 1960s. For 1963, the Impala featured rectilinear styling with an engine-turned aluminum rear taillight panel surrounded by a chrome border on SS models. Impalas featured premium interior appointments, such as plusher seats that could be done by the dealerships on customer request. Just as the hit Beach Boys single "409" was released, referring to the Impala's top-of-the-line V8 engine choice, so too does this Impala come equipped. The 409 C.I. V8 that this Impala is fitted with was the staple of many dragstrips of the time, crushing most of the competition breathing through a 4-barrel carburetor. Just as the song goes, "my four-speed, posi-traction 409", so too is this Impala equipped with the same features! Torque from that giant 409 gets to the "Positraction" rear end through the use of a 4-speed manual transmission, allowing for both smooth cruising and for going quite a bit faster. The exterior features of this Impala are clean and beautiful, the bright red paint having been buffed to a beautiful shine and complimented by the "fish-eye" patterned chrome trim. The interior is just as nice, with white vinyl upholstery pairing wonderfully to the immaculate red vinyl bench seats. In addition, this Impala has plenty of options, as evidenced by the factory-spec tachometer taking center stage in the middle-foreground of the speedometer. Additional options include a vintage-style AM/FM radio, power steering, underdash performance gauges, a heater and defroster, vent windows, a heater + defroster, and a mean-sounding dual exhaust system. The car rides on a great set of aluminum American Racing TT wheels over some sporty Cooper Cobra Radial GT RWL tires for an aggressive sense of style that adds to this Impala's understated exterior bodylines. This '63 Impala runs and drives just as good as it looks, and that 409 allows the car to really move its own weight. If you're looking for a wonderfully-driving, incredibly rare SS Impala that makes a load of power while also making a statement in style at the very same time, then this may just be the one you're looking for.
