In a surprising turn of events, actor Akshaye Khanna has reportedly exited the much-awaited film Drishyam 3 after a major disagreement over his remuneration. Following the massive box-office success of his recent films Dhurandhar and Chhaava, where his performances were widely praised, the actor allegedly hiked his fee to ₹21 crore—a significant jump from the ₹2.5 crore he reportedly charged for Drishyam 2. Producers were caught off guard by this demand, and further creative differences arose when the actor requested to wear a wig for the role, which the makers felt would break the character’s visual continuity. As a result, negotiations fell through, and Akshaye has been replaced by Jaideep Ahlawat, while the producers have reportedly even issued a legal notice to Akshaye for backing out just days before the shoot.
