STORYLINE:
At the CES tech show, French company Enchanted Tools is showcasing a cute-looking, logistics robot that may be headed to a hospital near you.

Meet Mirokai, an anime-inspired droid that’s here to help.

Created by French firm Enchanted Tools, Mirokai uses AI which, the company says, enables seamless interaction for everyone.

The robot moves on a rolling globe allowing fast, free mobility.

"The idea is to move objects around among people. So, in fact logistics,” explains Richard Malterre, head of communications at Enchanted Tools.

“And in near future, you can just ask him to do something like just can say; hey, robot, go bring me this or bring this to this room or these people. It's really easy for them to use him just with voice."

The company says Mirokai is first headed to hospitals in 2025, helping nurses carry and move equipment and medication within medical settings.

But the company sees other applications too - from nursing homes, hotels and airports to malls, food courts and restaurants.

“Everyone can ask questions. Simple questions about the environment,” explains Malterre.

“If it's in hospital, when is the next to lunch? Has my magazine arrived, something like that. Then the nurses have another layer so they can give orders.”

Annual Las Vegas technology show CES (formerly the Consumer Electronics Show) opened on Tuesday 9 January and will run until 12 January.
