Our first day, we went to the Secret Lagoon in the Miniloc Island. Actually, it is an open secret and a very popular one indeed. Concealed behind the towering karst cliffs, the Secret Lagoon has one small opening which you have to slowly crawl to get inside.

Once inside, it is just amazing and bewildering to see this secret lagoon enclosed in a circular steep dark limestone cliffs. The waters inside are much cooler because it is constantly in the shadows of the limestone cliffs enclosing it.

Only a few number of people can be inside the lagoon at a time so it is best to come very early in the morning before all the tourists start arriving. Outside and to the right of the Secret Lagoon is a nice small beach cove for relaxing. There are local people in kayaks selling coconuts to quench your thirst.

No words can describe the sheer beauty of El Nido - a municipality of the province of Palawan, Philippines. Located on the northern area of Palawan, El Nido is known for its white-sand beaches, crystal clear blue waters, coral reefs and a group of islands with steep karst cliffs.
