Big news coming in. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath’s latest statement has come into controversy. Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said that ‘Sanatana Dharma’ is the Rashtriya religion of Bharat, which means that ‘Sanatana Dharma' is the national religion of India and no one can question its perpetuity.

In an indirect attack on Udhayanidhi, Yogi Adityanath asserted that it was unfortunate that some people are “still insulting” the Sanatan Dharma, which has been “attacked since ancient times. Yogi was addressing a programme organised on the 350th anniversary of the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, when he made the statements.

Yogi also laid out a list of people who have no place in the country. He said that people who regard foreign traders as their masters have no place in India. And according to Yogi Adityanath, these same people do not respect the traditions of Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, Maharana Pratap, Chhatrapati Shivaji and Guru Gobind Singh.

The full statement of Yogi Adityanath regarding this reads, “Those who regard foreign invaders as their masters, there is no place for them in India. People with such a distorted mentality do not respect the traditions of Lord Shri Ram, Lord Shri Krishna, Maharana Pratap, Chhatrapati Shivaji and Guru Gobind Singh.”

Yogi Adityanath hailed the leadership of PM Modi and said that, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India today is emerging as a superpower in the world. At the same time, there are some people who are making malicious attempts to insult India’s heritage by raising questions about India and Indianness. Even Ravan had tried to attack the reality of God but what was the result? Ravan was destroyed by his ego.”

According to Yogi Adityanath, Hindu is just not a religious word, but is the cultural identity of Indians. He further gave a statement on the identities of Indian Muslims. Yogi said, “When Muslims from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh go to Mecca to perform Hajj, they are addressed as Hindus in Saudi Arabia.”

Amid a political debate over ‘Bharat vs India’, the CM Yogi said the country has been addressed as Bharat since ancient times and its citizens have been called “Hindus”. He stated that all Indians should take pride in the traditions of Sanatan Dharma, which according to him, encourages the world to follow the path of human welfare.
