Traveling to Fathala Wildlife Reserve/Senegal: with THE DEE'S

Our trip started at 5:30AM, but was interrupted when our driver was detained (40 minutes) on the Senegambian Strip (walking distance from the Kairaba) because he ran over a clearly visible orange .5 meters (1.5 feet) high traffic cone that was next to the police officer’s guard shack, continuing on to Banjul we noticed that his windshield-wipers were not working and it was dark & raining moderately, then we just missed the ferry to Barra and had to wait 45 minutes for the next ferry, but this was ok, it gave us a chance to eat breakfast and take in the scenery. From Barra we drove to the Senegal border where you have to deal with the immigration process of exiting The Gambia, to enter Senegal. We were lucky to have a guide that sped up the process by performing the exit (from The Gambia) process for us while we were in the Senegal entrance/depart line (we saved 30-40 minutes in each direction). Other than vendors trying to sell you their stuff it was a very smooth process
