Nitram is all things from disgusting to oddly beautiful. It's an extremely challenging film that makes it's audience ask what is and isn't ok when it comes to exploring a dark character who committed real life violent acts in 1996. The film tells the story of the real life person; Martin Bryan in the form of this character who we only ever call Nitram as to try to avoid giving the spotlight to the real life man who doesn't deserve the attention at all - The real life story was a horrible situation where this evil man shot 35 innocent strangers for absolutely no justifiable reason whatsoever and this film explores the events leading up to this moment that ultimately changed Australia's gun laws forever since. It's a hard film to watch that will disturb many people who do and I would have a hard time recommending it to many people - But for those who will appreciate it... Mannnn do I think this is also an absolutely brilliant film that does a masterful job at depicting this dangerous man in many lights; It somewhat sympathetically shows us a sad side to him, it scarily shows us the threatening side of him and it does an insanely well done job of balancing the many tones of this man's messed up mentality. I love this film and kind of want everyone to watch it... But for now; Please just watch the review :)
