Wellsboro and La Porte, IN trains - July 5, 1992

Описание к видео Wellsboro and La Porte, IN trains - July 5, 1992

In the beginning are a couple of shots around the diamonds at Wellsboro, including the withering Pere Marquette line that once ran to New Buffalo, MI. CSX already had abandoned it north of Wellsboro back in 1988. The first train is an eastbound GTW led by GP9R # 4602. Amtrak # 41, the westbound Broadway Limited, comes through next with F40PH 328. It was due out of Nappanee at 7:52am. Lastly, a westbound with CSX 6073 leading a GP30.

Moving north to La Porte at CP 463, the former Judd Tower location. The tower closed just a few months earlier on May 18. The C&O tracks were removed a few years before that. Conrail ELKA comes west through the interlocking with CR 6468 that has a squealing RS3L. Next Amtrak # 49 led by F40PH 304 and 340. 70mph was the max speed for Amtrak through here, IIRC. An empty coal train led by CR 6348 comes east out of the siding and blocks the following westbound TV train.
Thanks for watching!
